What was your reason to start the challenge?
Well to be honest I’m trying to find myself again! I’ve always enjoyed training in the gym with my hubby however 1.5 yrs ago life went to shit & has been a struggle every day since. My hubby & I have certainly been faced with huge challenges which included him needing a kidney transplant & me becoming his kidney donor, what a whirlwind it’s been since with many other challenges thrown in, however it’s time to turn things around & i’m hoping that this challenge will help to get my mojo back & start to make me feel more energised, strong & confident again.
What did you like most about the challenge?
I like having structure & routine, I found it motivated me more knowing I had all the right tools & knowledge to get me through. I Love the way the training guide is set up & the ease of being able to swap an exercise. This was also the same with the nutrition guide, I found the food choices to be easy & maintainable. I loved that I could download it to google sheets, such an easy & smart way to do it. Overall there is lots of support & being able to log into the community & see what other questions competitors have asked as sometimes it’s something you may need help with yourself.
What was the hardest thing about your challenge?
Posting my photos for everyone to see as I’m usually more reserved.
What impact has the challenge had on your life?
It’s given me self confidence & made me feel more positive & motivated. Makes me stop & think about my choices. It’s put a real spring in my step as I’m feeling so fantastic. I wanted to prove to myself that after going through such massive life changes with major surgery that I could still get myself into a healthy way of life & feel good about myself again, not to mention how proud of me my husband is, he is my No1 supporter & just doesn’t stop complimenting me & praising me, which of course is the best feeling in the world. I now also feel like a strong fit nanny for my granddaughter.
What would you say to people who are thinking of doing the challenge?
What are you waiting for stop thinking & take the leap & do it as it’s just so worthwhile, you won’t regret doing the challenge, there’s only positive things to come from it so why not just do it & start your new journey.
Anything else you would like to tell us about the challenge?
I just loved it, I couldn’t believe that 12 weeks had flown by the way that it did, every day I felt positive to train & eat healthy. I was also inspired by all the other challengers stories & updated photos of there progress, so good to see everybody doing so well & being so positive. The maxine’s supplements are also very yummy 😋 I always looked forward to having my protein shakes as the flavours are great but they don’t give me that yucky bloated feeling.
